Generosity is Contagious
3 local businesses/organizations + many hands = 15 meals for foster families
The foster closet partnered with Garden Valley (GV) Farmstead, Wal-Mart of BRF, and the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group of BRF to provide meals to 15 local foster families!
This project was initiated by Darci Daniels of Garden Valley Farmstead in Hixton, WI. Darci wanted to provide local foster families with a healthy meal. As part of GV’s annual sale of cheese boxes during the holiday season, $1 of every box sold was donated towards this meal through their “Meat Matters” initiative.
Garden Valley donated shredded beef, hamburger, and cheese to each foster family! That’s
30 lbs of shredded beef
15 lbs of hamburger
15 lbs of cheese
To complete the meal, Walmart provided all the sides. This included frozen vegetables , mashed potatoes , buns, barbecue sauce, a gallon of milk , and a box of chocolate pudding for dessert.
All of this generously donated food was then assembled and packaged by the MOPS group as a service project for the group. Several members of the group then delivered these meals to the doorsteps of foster families throughout Jackson County!
This was a joint effort by many and we are so thankful for the community support shown to foster families.
Special thank you to Ashley Seguelhurst, of MOPS, for her coordination efforts and Melissa Plaza for making the labels that went on our bags!
